The
City of Lavon is located in southeastern Collin
County, Texas, near the intersection of US Highway 78 and State
Highway 205.
City Hall is located at
120 School Rd., Lavon, Texas. Driving directions -
From US Highway 78 north of Wylie, Texas, proceed north through the
intersection with State Highway 205. Turn right at the next
turn signal, Business Highway 78 / Main Street. Follow the
road as it curves hard to the left. Past the Lavon Post Office
on your left, the road will form a 'Y'. Follow the left branch
of the 'Y'. There will be two churches on your left; at
the second church, turn RIGHT onto Boyd Ct. Your next left is
School Rd., and City Hall is immediately on your right.
Effective June 1, 2006, all city
business EXCEPT COURT OR POLICE MATTERS are conducted in the new
City Hall Annex, located immediately adjacent to the old School
Building.
City Council Meetings and Court
Proceedings are now also conducted in the City Hall Annex. A
new Council Chambers has been installed to provide for the comfort
and convenience of both the Council and the audience.
The
Lavon Police Department is located at 501-B Lincoln Ave,
Lavon, Tx. Driving directions - From US Highway 78
north of Wylie, Texas, proceed north through the intersection with
State Highway 205. Turn right at the next turn signal,
Business Highway 78 / Main Street. Follow the road as it
curves hard to the left. Past the Lavon Post Office on your
left, the road will form a 'Y'. Follow the RIGHT branch
of the 'Y'. Lincoln Ave. will be on your right, immediately
below the water tower. Turn right on Lincoln Ave., and the
Police Department will be immediately on your right.

City Hall hours of
operation are from 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon, and 1:00 p.m. to
6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. City Hall offices are closed on
Fridays.. The City recognizes the following

Services
The City works closely with the following
utility companies in providing the citizens of Lavon with
Electricity, Natural Gas, Telephone, Cable Television,
Sanitation (trash & recycle), and Hazardous Material
Disposal.
Electricity is provided by two utilities
in Lavon, Farmers Electric Cooperative and
TU Electric Company.

or Realtor for the name of the electric company servicing your

Corp., which is a separate company.
Requests for water service must be made directly to Lavon

Sanitation (trash) and recycle
services are provided by the City. Arrangements for
sanitation and recycling service may be made by contacting the
City Secretary or City Clerk at 972-843-4220.
Trash pickup occurs every Tuesday morning, while recyclable
materials are picked up every Friday morning. For further

Schools
Lavon is a member of the
Community Independent School
District, together with the cities of Josephine and
Nevada. The schools which comprise Community ISD are located
at 601 FM 1138, Nevada, Texas. The District covers 89 square
miles, and is comprised of Carylene McClendon Elementary,
NeSmith Elementary School in Lavon, Community Intermediate,
Community Middle School, and Community High School.
